The End

Yep.  That's it.  In the (unlikely) event that anyone reads this post, be advised that it shall be the last.  I'm hanging my Xanga-hat on my Xanga-hat-peg-on-the-wall and shan't don it again.  It's not like I ever use this thing anyway.

I am, however, going to try and blog a little more often...just not at this location.  I have started a new blog, which can be found here.  I decided that I wanted/needed a change, so I've switched services.  No offense Xanga...no offense Xanga users.  Just needed a change, though the theme of my new blog may remind you of something.

*shrug*

I hope that we'll meet again, 'cause visitors would be nice.  Some new blog-warming visitors.  Yeah.

Sister Winter, by Sufjan Stevens

Oh my friends I've
Begun to worry right
Where I should be grateful
I should be satisfied

Oh my heart I
Would clap and dance in place
With my friends I have so
Much pleasure to embrace

But my heart is
Returned to sister winter
But my heart is
As cold as ice

Oh my thoughts I
Return to summer time
When I kissed your ankle
I kissed you through the night

All my gifts I gave everything to you
Your strange imagination
You threw it all away

Now my heart is
Returned to sister winter
Now my heart is
As cold as ice

All my friends, I've
Returned to sister winter
All my friends, I
Apologize, apologize

All my friends, I've
Returned to sister winter
All my friends, I
Apologize, apologize

All my friends, I've
Returned to sister winter
All my friends, I
Apologize, apologize

And my friends, I've
Returned to wish you all the best
And my friends, I've
Returned to wish you all the best
And my friends, I've
Returned to wish you all the best
And my friends, I've
Returned to wish you a Happy Christmas

To wish you a Happy Christmas
To wish you a Happy Christmas
To wish you a Happy Christmas

Thank you all so much for your prayers.  I got a nice phone call this morning...

Two weeks ago, I found an intriguing employment posting with a minor league baseball team in the Dallas, Texas area.  The description of the position and the organization (the Frisco Rough Riders, Double-A franchise for the Texas Rangers) really caught my attention and piqued my interest.  I applied.  I then attempted to make a followup call twice a day for a week and a half or so.  I couldn't ever seem to catch an appropriate person to speak with.

This morning I received a call from the number I recognized from calling so many times.  What followed was a 15-minute phone interview.  I guess it went pretty well, because they want me to head down there for a face-to-face interview on the 18th of this month.  I'll have to get myself down there, but they'll cover the hotel and everything.

I had come to the point where I was still hopeful about something happening with this job, but figured it'd be a couple months or more.  Chelsea and I are very excited about this.  We'd miss all of you, our family and our friends, but we are hopeful for the opportunity.  It's a great organization that's experiencing enormous growth.  Career-wise, I'd be hard pressed to find a better place to get my foot in the door.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers, as you all are in ours.  Whatever happens, we know God is at work in our lives.  And He's great.

Well, I guess I must have exhausted myself with all of those posts back in June.  Here we are, in July, and here I am.  I think I'll be super busy from now till, oh, forever.  I'm working a ton of hours at work for the remainder of my time at this internship.  I got the opportunity to do some extra stuff (i.e. sit in front a door during a youth camp) and get paid for it, so I'm doing that before and after my regular work day.  Early mornings (for me, pre-8am is early, folks) and late nights...wahoo!  Oh, and as soon as this internship is done, I'm getting married.  And hopefully getting a job (still looking...if you know anyone interested in hiring the best employee ever, let me know...).  So, as I said, busy until forever.  I'm not complaining, though...I think the days, weeks, and months to come will certainly be interesting and exciting, if occasionally stressful.

I've enjoyed spending time with my family this summer, but I do miss all of you, my friends.  I've been bad about keeping up with friends from high school, but hopefully I'll do better keeping up with all of you!  Obviously, this will be easier if I get a job in Champaign (easier for those of you in Champaign, that is), but I don't know if that'll happen or not.  We shall see.  I understand the Cuba team had a good trip.  I'm glad you're all back.

Over and out.

It's really hot in here.  I'm at work, working.  The air conditioner, however, decided to take a sick day.  The heat index today is 97 degrees.  I think it's hot outside, too.
